Your child is about to experience the adventure of a lifetime- hiking, community and team building, special activities, campfires and so much more. Your child will spend 4 days and 3 nights expanding their science knowledge in nature’s classroom. We hope that you will share in their excitement about The Outdoor School and help them to prepare for their time away from home. Your support and encouragement are essential to the success of The Outdoor School experience for your student. Q: How can I contact my child at The Outdoor School?
A: In case of an emergency we can be contacted by telephone at 805.686.5167 from 8 am – 4 pm and at 805.686.5172 after hours.
Q: Can my child call me from The Outdoor School?
A: We do not have pay phones on property and discourage social phone calls. Social phone calls exacerbate homesickness for everyone involved
Q: My child has a dietary restriction, what do I do?
A: Please inform your child’s classroom teacher of the dietary restriction. If necessary your classroom teacher will ask you to contact us for more detailed information.
Q: What types of background checks are performed on The Outdoor School staff?
A: Every staff member is fingerprinted and a background check is run
Q: What is the policy for prescription or over-the-counter medication?
A: The medication policy for The Outdoor School is based on the individual school district’s policy. Please contact your school to determine the prescription medication policy.
Q: How do I get to go to The Outdoor School?
A: Right now we do not have a program for adults but we are considering it!!!!
